The Inspector-General of Police, COP Christian Tetteh Yohunu, has promoted seven police officers in a move to strengthen leadership and boost morale within the Ghana Police Service.
The promotion includes six junior officers and one senior officer. It comes on the back of the recent arrest of five suspects in connection with the robbery and murder of 40-year-old gold buyer, Seth Kobina, at Agona Fie near Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region.
Announcing the promotions, the Director-General of the Legal and Prosecution Directorate, COP Joseph Oklu Gyamera, congratulated the officers and charged them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and integrity in their new roles.
He noted that the new ranks come with greater responsibility at a time when public expectations of the Police Service are high in crime prevention, public safety, and trust-building.
COP Gyamera added that the promotions are intended to serve as a morale booster and to motivate other officers to remain vigilant and dedicated to protecting lives and property.
