Two Dead, One Injured in Nsutam Highway Crash Involving Fuel Tanker

Two people were killed and one seriously injured Wednesday, June 3, 2026, when a fuel tanker collided with a motorbike at Nsutam Community 5 on the Accra–Kumasi Highway near Bunso University.

The motorbike was carrying a rider and two female passengers and was reportedly attempting to cross the highway when it was struck by a fuel tanker traveling from Kumasi to Accra.

The rider and one passenger died at the scene. The second passenger sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Hawa Memorial Hospital at Osiem for treatment.  Police have conveyed the bodies to the Kyebi Government Hospital mortuary and opened investigations into the crash.

Residents described the incident as tragic and preventable, and are calling for increased road safety awareness along the busy highway stretch.
