Exim Bank Inspect 54,000-Cpacity Automated Poultry Project At Buntaa Farms

The Ghana Export-Import Bank, GEXIM, has reaffirmed its commitment to boosting local production and food security following a working visit to Buntaa Farms Ltd.

The visit, led by the Best Rated CEO Sylvester A. Mensah was to review progress on a strategic investment in Ghana’s poultry sector being financed by the Bank.

Chief Executive Officer of Buntaa Farms Ltd, Prof. Kwame Gyan, Esq., conducted the GEXIM team around the farm’s operations, including the newly completed Layer House 2– a fully automated facility with a capacity of about 54,000 birds.

The facility, financed by Ghana EXIM Bank, is in its final stages of commissioning ahead of stocking.

Speaking during the tour, Mr. Mensah said the project goes beyond infrastructure financing.

“For Ghana EXIM Bank, this is about more than funding infrastructure. It is about financing production, and the productive capacity that turns investment into output, income and jobs,” he said.

He noted that the project aligns directly with H.E. President John Dramani Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy and Feed Ghana agenda which seeks to build productive capacity, strengthen food security, create employment, and reduce import dependence through increased local production.

According to him, the Buntaa Farms investment also advances the Bank’s mandate to support export-oriented growth and enhance the competitiveness of Ghanaian enterprises.

“Our role is to ensure that Ghanaian businesses with the capacity to produce, expand and create value have access to the financing and partnership they need to scale sustainably,” Mr. Mensah added.

He assured that Ghana EXIM Bank will continue to support Buntaa Farms Ltd as it ramps up to full-scale production to strengthen Ghana’s poultry value chain.

“When we finance production, we create jobs. When we finance agriculture, we strengthen food security. When we finance Ghanaian businesses, we build Ghana,” he stressed.
