A 20 year Frank an apprentice from Twifo Kwamoano has got drown in the Kakum river at Essuakyir-Kakumdo bridge after challenging the river
According to Nana Ekwaw Nketiah the Tufohen of Kakumdo,it took three days for the traditional authorities to retrieve the lifeless body after several hours of libations and purification.
Nana Ekwaw Nketiah said because of the challenge he threw on the river, that took two days before retrieving the body which for him,if it was just a normal drown,they would have retrieved it long.
Uncle Fii Adom Ara Kwa, Master of the deceased Frank said it was just last four months that his parents brought him acquire the welding trading from him and only last Sunday to hear the bad news.
The master said he wasn’t around when the incident happened and that he was informed via phone call he was in a family meeting.
Hon.Titus Kobena Danqua, the assembly member for Kakumdo/GNAT electoral area explained the steps he has taken so far as the issue have been referred to Abora District Police for investigation and autopsy but used the opportunity to called on the youths in Essuakyir-Kakumdo to desist from jumping from the bridge into the Kakum river which is very scary and whiskey to them and their families.
