The Deputy Minister for Energy and Member of Parliament for Gomoa West Constituency, Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah, has pledged to renovate the abandoned ICT Centre at Gomoa Dawurampong in the Gomoa West District.
The Deputy Minister made the pledge during the commissioning of an ultra-modern Kindergarten (KG) block at the Dawurampong Catholic Basic School, a project aimed at easing classroom congestion and improving teaching and learning conditions.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah assured traditional leaders, teachers, parents, and students of his commitment to bringing more developmental projects and educational infrastructure to the community to enhance academic activities.
He further disclosed plans to renovate and transform the abandoned ICT Centre into a modern Digital Skills and Training Centre to support the government’s efforts to equip young people with ICT and digital skills for the modern job market.
Meanwhile, the Amankorahene of Gomoa Dawurampong, Nana Odum Apegya Mintah, speaking on behalf of the chiefs and residents, expressed gratitude for the newly commissioned KG block.
However, he appealed to the government and the Member of Parliament to provide additional infrastructure for the school, citing inadequate facilities and growing enrolment as major challenges facing the institution.
