Some newly elected electoral area executives of the NPP in the Akwatia Constituency have appealed to the national and regional leadership of the party to help restore unity within the constituency. According to them, the division between supporters of the late Member of Parliament, Hon. Ernest Yaw Kumi, and former MP, Hon. Ama Sey, continues to affect the party’s strength in the area and requires urgent attention if the NPP is to regain the seat in 2028.
The Chairman of the Electoral Area Coordinators, Mr. Emmanuel Kusi, also appealed to the national and regional executives of the party to visit Akwatia and help address the challenges confronting the party.
He urged party members to elect leaders who can effectively organize the party and unite members without discrimination during the upcoming constituency elections.
