The Oseawuohene of Akyem Abuakwa, Daasebre Dr. Asumadu Appiah II, has renewed the long-standing friendship between the Akyem Abuakwa Oseawuo Stool and the Akuapem Aburi Oseawuo Stool.
The two traditional leaders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace, unity, and harmony between their kingdoms during the Ohum Festival celebration at Akyem Wenchi in the Eastern Region.
The Oseawuohene and Chief of Akyem Wenchi, Daasebre Dr. Asumadu Appiah II, emphasized the importance of unity between the Akyem Abuakwa and Akuapem traditional areas.
He appealed to traditional authorities, religious leaders, government officials, and the public to protect Ghana’s natural resources, including lands, water bodies, and forests, stressing that these resources were preserved through the sacrifices of their forefathers, noting that mining is not evil but must be carried out responsibly to safeguard the environment for future generations.

Nana Baah Abu Okai IV, Aburi Kurowura Agonahene and Akuapem Oseawuohene, expressed appreciation for the renewed friendship between the two kingdoms. He said the strengthened relationship would promote peace, unity, and development across the Eastern Region. He pledged to sustain the partnership for the benefit of the people of both traditional areas.
