C/R: Ayensuako Chiefs Appeals For Jobs After Court Settles 26 years Labd Dispute

The Chief of Awutu Ayensuako in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region, Nai Kofi Antwi V, has appealed to the government and private investors to establish factories in the area to create employment opportunities for the youth following the settlement of a 26-year land dispute.

Awutu Ayensuako, which comprises several communities with a population of more than 9,000, had been embroiled in a long-standing land dispute involving the neighbouring communities of Oshimpo and Okwanpam over family lands.

Speaking after the judgment delivered by Cape Coast Circuit Court 3, Nai Kofi Antwi V urged all landowners within the area to present their land documents at his palace for verification to avoid future disputes and possible loss of their lands.

The chief also stated that Oshimpo and Okwanpam currently have no substantive chiefs, adding that plans are underway to install chiefs in the two communities to promote peace, effective traditional leadership, and development.

Meanwhile, some queen mothers and Asafo leaders of Ayensuako have called on residents to unite and support the chief’s vision for the development of the area.

They stressed that Nai Kofi Antwi V is the traditional overlord of Ayensuako and the surrounding communities under his jurisdiction, and urged all residents to work together to ensure lasting peace and progress.
